GRAVEN IMAGE (UK) ?????
It has been discovered that there is another Graven Image!!! The Cleveland, Ohio based band were formed in 1996 and have released a CD entitled `Black Lung Cathedral'. Here is a copy of the e-mail I received today from band member Lorin....

Sorry about the delay in answering your message, Graven Image is currently in the Cleveland area and holds recognition in being nominated for The Cleveland Free Times Techno/Industrial/Gothic artist of the year, as well as being included on a Delinquent Records Compilation out of New York City called More Black than Black, We are also very proud of our first release Black Lung Cathedral, the album was copyrighted with the U.S. library of Congress in 1997.  Graven Image formed in 1996 and has many regional (Scene Magazine, Pivot Magazine, Free Times, etc..)and national (C.M.J. Monthly, Outburn Magazine, etc..) interviews, and reviews to prove the fact.  Im sorry if our name is the same or similiar, but all the sources listed give credit to us and the rightful holders of the name Graven Image.   I have not included every source, for there is too many to write down.

Followers of the history of the UK Graven Image will already know that we originally formed in 1993 (see Band Info page for more details) and were given the name by SOLITUDE AETURNUS guitarist John Perez. (Lyle and Rob from SA were originally in a band called Graven Image) We asumed that this meant the name would be secure, however, the fact that another band has used and registered the name in the USA may (or may not) mean that we have to change the name. This would be a pity as all the hard work we have put into the band as Graven Image would be lost.

The possibility of both bands using the name is still viable, as neither band has international reProfessional advice is being sourght at the moment. Check back here for details on this interesting little situation as it happens!!!

TERRORIZER MAGAZINE NIGHT AT THE RUSKIN ARMS
Regular visitors to tht Terrorizer magazine web site (www.terrorizer.co.uk) will already know this, but Jeff (Graven Image guitarist) is trying to arrange a get together for a drink at the Seminal east end pub THE RUSKIN ARMS, the birthplace of Iron Maiden and a truly metal pub in the heart of East Ham.

Saturday night is rock night at the Ruskin Arms, and so, to bring everyone together, we are arranging a drink at the Ruskin on the 27th Feb. Starting at 8:30pm till 2am, the Ruskin Arms has late licence and music and videos supplied by THE METAL MOBILE. All drinks are at pub prices, so if you're in the area, come on down and join us for the evening. Bring your friends and we look forward to seeing you there.

NEW GRAVEN IMAGE WEB SITE LAUNCHED
The New Look Graven Image Web Site finally sees the light of day with new graphics and information about the band missing from the very basic and thrown together web site from before. We also have a new e-mail address which is [email protected] to go with the new web host on www.fortunecity.com .
